NEW 🔥 Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and 4Pro VS Galaxy Buds3 and 3Pro – What’s New?

Samsung just dropped its new flagship TWS earbuds: the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro in-ear earbuds. Announced at Galaxy Unpacked on February 25, 2026, alongside the flagship Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup. The wireless earbuds feature a new design, a new sound system, and features primarily aimed at working with Samsung’s flagship devices.

Just a reminder that MyChooz has reviews of the previous generation Bluetooth earbuds – the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Galaxy Buds3. I recommend checking them out if you haven’t seen them yet.

If you want a full review of the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Buds4 — support this post. Drop your questions below — I’ll cover them in the review.

Sound. The Galaxy Buds4 Pro have a new dual driver – an 11mm dynamic driver and a 5.5mm tweeter. The previous generation has a 10.5mm dynamic driver and a 6.1mm tweeter. Potentially, you can expect an increase in bass, as the Buds3 Pro noticeably lacked bass.

Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro sound system

Inside the earbuds is an 11 mm dynamic driver. The sound system has not changed or has undergone minimal changes.

Both models support the proprietary SSC UHQ audio codec with 24-bit/96 kHz sound quality. It only works on Samsung S23, Flip, Fold 5 and higher devices. For older models and other price segments, the basic SSC codec with 24-bit/48 kHz sound quality is available. For owners of other devices, only the basic AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs are available.

Noise cancellation. The active noise cancellation system has been upgraded to version 2.0. The main innovation is leak analysis. If the earbuds don’t fit snugly, the system adjusts the frequencies to even out the balance. Compared to previous generations, this is an increase of 15-20%.

Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro noise cancellation

Noise cancellation is lower in the open-fit model due to the open design. Based on the previous generation, it is roughly on par with in-ear earbuds priced under $50.

The transparency mode in Buds4 Pro promises to be less digital and hissy. Although in Buds3 Pro, the transparency mode remains the benchmark. Now you can set up to three names in the app, and when someone calls you by name, the earbuds automatically activate transparency mode. I haven’t seen this feature anywhere else yet, so if you know of any earbuds that have it, please let me know in the comments. Plus, the earbuds automatically mute the music and transparency mode when you start talking.

There is no transparency mode in the earbuds, and such a mode is not really necessary. With an open design, you can hear up to 90-95% of all sounds.

Each earbud has 3 microphones (6 total). In the settings, you can enable the 16 kHz bandwidth option for more detailed voice transmission during calls.

Features. As in previous generations, both models support voice assistant and translator functions. Spatial sound and a proprietary 9-band equalizer are available. Head gestures for answering and rejecting calls have been added, as implemented in Huawei earbuds.

And owners of devices with One UI 8.5 firmware will get more control in the firmware – changing the volume, environment, and battery charge.

Samsung Galaxy Buds firmware integration

Controls are implemented with pinches at the base of the stem and swipes.

Other stuff. Bluetooth 6.1 instead of 5.4, with support for seamless switching between devices. The dust and water resistance for the Buds4 Pro hasn’t changed – IP57 with resistance to immersion in water. But the protection rating for the earbuds has gotten worse – IP54 instead of IP57.

The battery life hasn’t changed – up to 6 hours for the earbuds and 26 hours with the case. In-ear model – up to 7 hours and 30 hours with the case.

Design. The earbuds have been completely redesigned. Many owners of the previous generation were not impressed with the triangular leg. It looks interesting, but it is inconvenient to put the earbuds back in the case. The new style is called “blade.” The case design has also changed, and the earbuds fit in the same way as in previous generations or in the Galaxy Buds FE.

Price and availability. The earbuds are available in black and white. An exclusive rose gold color is available for the Buds4 Pro in-ear model. Launch price: $249 for the Galaxy Buds4 Pro, $179 for the Buds4. Official launch date is March 11.
