New DJI Mic Mini 2S Wireless Microphone — 32-bit recording and four transmitters from $114 (€99)

DJI released the Mic Mini 2S — a compact wireless microphone system with 32-bit float internal recording, two-level AI noise cancellation, and the ability to connect up to four transmitters to one receiver. Sales started on August 4, 2026: the European price for a kit with one transmitter is from $114 (€99).

What the manufacturer claims:

  • Internal memory for each transmitter is about 14.5 GB
  • Up to 28 hours of recording in standard 24-bit mode or about 22 hours in 32-bit float
  • The recording is saved as an original file or a file processed by algorithms
  • One receiver supports up to four transmitters; compatible with Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2
  • Independent four-channel output
  • Two levels of AI noise cancellation (Basic, Strong) and three voice processing options (Regular, Rich, Bright)
  • Automatic gain control: Clipping Control and Loudness Balance
  • Transmitter weight is about 12g; range with Mic Mini 2S receiver is up to 400m in open space without interference (with mobile receiver — up to 300m, in mixed configuration with Mic 2 / Mic 3 — up to 200m)
  • Up to 11 hours of transmitter playback, 10 hours of receiver playback, 40 hours with the charging case; 5 minutes of charging gives about an hour of playback
  • Direct connection to compatible DJI cameras via OsmoAudio without a separate receiver
  • The 32-bit float mode is off by default — turn it on in the DJI Mimo app; recordings are saved as Edited File by default, you can choose Original File

The microphone is omnidirectional. DJI states a frequency range of 20 Hz–20 kHz without a low-cut filter, equivalent noise of 22 dBA, and a maximum sound pressure level of 126 dB at 1% distortion.

Why this is interesting. Mic Mini 2S is DJI’s first miniature wireless microphone with internal recording: the file on the transmitter acts as a backup against radio interference, lost connection, or incorrect levels on the camera, and 32-bit float leaves room to restore overly quiet and overloaded fragments. The second feature is that the system can be expanded: the new receiver connects not only to four Mic Mini 2S units, but also to transmitters from previous generations.

What’s bothersome. The claimed 28 hours of recording is in the standard 24-bit mode; in 32-bit float, you get about 22 hours. The four-channel output doesn’t work in every setup: you need a compatible Sony camera with a separate DJI adapter or supported software — adapters and transmitters are sold separately. With a direct Bluetooth connection to a smartphone, only one transmitter works at a time, and you can’t record audio through the phone’s native camera app — only through supported third-party apps. The claimed 40 hours of battery life were achieved with recording and noise cancellation turned off, at a short distance, and without interference.

Price and where to buy. The DJI Mic Mini 2S launched globally on August 4, 2026. In the official European store: one transmitter and a standard receiver cost $114 (€99); one transmitter, a mobile receiver, and a compact case cost $114 (€99); two transmitters, a receiver, and a large case cost $218 (€189); a separate transmitter costs $80 (€69).

What we’ll test. We’ll record sharp volume changes and see how far we can push a too-quiet or digitally overloaded recording in 32-bit float in post-processing — until the microphone path itself starts to overload (DJI claims a limit of 126 dB SPL at 1% distortion). We’ll compare the original file with the algorithmically processed version. Separately — AI noise reduction indoors, outdoors, and in wind, actual range in the city, stability with four transmitters, and battery life with recording and noise reduction turned on at the same time.

Does a compact wireless microphone need internal 32-bit recording, or will a regular limiter be enough for most creators? Write in the comments.
