Best Power Banks — Top 5

This is a ranking of the best power banks tested on Mychooz. I have tested 15 models so far, and another 5 models from Baseus, Xiaomi, and Essager will join the list after complete testing. This is a new category I am building out with your help, so drop any models you want to see in future tests and reviews down in the comments. Along with new additions, I am rolling out a rating system and a buyer’s guide tailored to different power bank use cases.

A power bank is a portable charger with an integrated battery, often called a PowerBank or portable charger. You will find it handy for keeping your phone, tablet, earbuds, watch, and even laptop powered up on the go when you are nowhere near an electrical outlet.

Why you can trust us. Rating spots are never for sale — to anyone. We buy 90% of models ourselves, 10% are sent by partners for testing. Models in this rating are tested under the EMMA 0.1.8 system?

Popular Questions:

How many times can I charge my phone, tablet, or earbuds?

There is a very simple way to figure out how many times you can charge any device using any PowerBank, with no complicated formulas to memorize. 1. Multiply your PowerBank’s capacity by 0.6 if you do not know its efficiency rating to get the actual capacity delivered after voltage conversion. If you have a 20000 mAh bank, you get 12000; for a 10000 mAh bank, you get 6000. 2. Divide that result by your device’s battery capacity. If you have 12000 mAh available and your phone packs a 5000 mAh battery, you will get 2 full charges plus leftover juice for roughly half another charge. The formula works accurately, though results can vary based on the PowerBank’s efficiency. The only exceptions are counterfeits with fake capacity numbers or power banks with degraded batteries, which will yield fewer charges.

Can you bring a PowerBank on a plane?

Yes, you can carry models up to 100 Wh (roughly 27000 mAh) in your hand luggage.
