Edifier has unveiled its latest over-ear Bluetooth headphones, the Edifier Stax Spirit S5. These wireless headphones boast Snapdragon Sound compatibility (both traditional Bluetooth audio transmission and the new LE Audio standard).
Edifier Stax Spirit S5 wireless headphones – what’s new:
At their core, the full-size headphones feature a planar magnetic driver with a 2μm-thick diaphragm. Employing the company’s second-generation EqualMass technology, the diaphragm is patterned with conductive magnetic traces of varying thickness and quantity to evenly distribute mass balance across its surface. This novel approach aims to achieve uniform driving force for all parts of the diaphragm.
The headphones are equipped with LDAC, LHDC, AAC codecs, as well as the full suite of Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite audio codecs, including wideband aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless. Thanks to these codecs, data transfer rates can reach up to 1.2Mbps, with a resolution of 24-bit/96kHz. Powering the headphones is Qualcomm’s QCC5181 processor. Bluetooth connectivity is handled by the latest Bluetooth 5.4 version, promising a stable connection within a range of up to 10m. Audio latency is kept to a mere 89ms across all modes. The Stax Spirit S5 is Hi-Res and Hi-Res Wireless certified.
Noise cancellation is handled by a dual-microphone setup, aided by Qualcomm aptX™ Voice technology for crystal-clear voice transmission. Multipoint connectivity also allows for seamless switching between two Bluetooth-enabled devices.
