At the Made By Google event (August 13), the Pixel 9 and the new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless TWS headphones were unveiled. The Bluetooth headphones have a new design unlike the previous model. The in-ear headphones are equipped with dynamic drivers.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones – what’s interesting?
Sensors: Each earbud is equipped with:
- Three microphones to enhance ANC and track conversations.
- An IR sensor that detects when the earbuds are in your ears, automatically pausing playback when they are removed.
- An accelerometer that tracks the earbuds and head movements, adjusting sound and controlling playback based on activity.
- A gyroscope that works with the accelerometer to accurately track movements, useful for spatial audio and other interactions.
- Touch and swipe sensors for controlling music playback, volume, calls, and activating the voice assistant.
Protection: The earbuds have an IP54 rating, providing dust and water resistance, while the case is rated IPX4 for water resistance.
Battery: The earbuds offer up to 12 hours of playtime with ANC off and up to 8 hours with ANC on. With the case, the total playtime extends to 48 hours and 30 hours, respectively.
