Retro Design and Powerful Sound
What does the manufacturer offer in full-size headphones SIVGA Robin SV021?
SIVGA Robin SV021 In-Ear Headphones – Sound
These headphones use dynamic drivers that deliver high-quality sound with a wide frequency range. SIVGA Robin SV021 headphones have an impedance of 32 ohms, making them compatible with various sound sources, including smartphones. However, to fully unlock their potential and achieve a more accurate representation of all sound nuances, I prefer to use my dedicated players, which provide more detailed and higher-quality playback.
To evaluate the headphones, I use my stock high-end players: the Questyle QP1R and Questyle QP2R, and the Hiby R3 Pro.
My audio preferences are centered on maximizing fidelity to the original sound, without adding effects or enhancements. That’s why I chose the Questyle QP1R as my main source – its sound is the most monitor-like and closest to the original.
The SIVGA Robin SV021 features a closed-back design, which limits the diaphragm’s movement from the rear side of the driver. This design promotes a more controlled sound by preventing leakage and resonances. The closed-back construction aids in sound isolation, minimizing the impact of external noise and allowing for a focused listening experience. However, the headphones do not provide perfect isolation in noisy environments, and some external sounds may still be audible. They are best suited for use in quiet places, such as offices or homes, where moderate sound isolation is needed.
- Overall Presentation – 7.5: the sound of the headphones can be characterized as energetic with a pronounced V-shaped frequency response. The initial impression is that the sound is engaging and rich, but not without its flaws. The headphones are suitable for most genres but are more oriented towards entertainment listening rather than accurate music reproduction. There is a lack of melodiousness—the sound is rather dry and aggressive.
- Low Frequencies – 7.5: the sub-bass is well-defined but lacks depth and texture. The mid-bass is dense and bulky, which reduces its clarity. The drums sound rich but lack naturalness, and the trombone and bass guitar lose detail and expressiveness. The track used for testing was Massive Attack – “Angel.”
- Mid Frequencies – 6.5: the mid frequencies, especially in the lower range, suffer from a lack of richness, making male voices sound distant. Female voices and flutes are a bit brighter but lack naturalness. Violins and trumpets sometimes seem too harsh, and keyboard instruments lose expressiveness. Testing was conducted with the track Sade – “Smooth Operator.”
- High Frequencies – 8: the highs are not particularly distinguished by their brightness and detail, but on some tracks, there is an unpleasant aggression and sharpness that can be uncomfortable and make you want to lower the volume. Cymbals and triangles sound quite harsh, and sibilant or hissing sounds can be irritating at high volumes. Testing was conducted with the track Miles Davis – “So What.”
- Detail retrieval – 6.5: the detail is not impressive, slightly above average. Although instruments are heard clearly enough, there is a lack of microdetails and subtle textures, which makes the overall perception somewhat simplified. While listening to the track Radiohead – “Everything in Its Right Place,” the lack of depth and resolution in the high frequencies became particularly noticeable.
- Soundstage – 7: The soundstage is fairly narrow and limited, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact location of instruments and vocalists. The depth and width of the soundstage are restricted, and instrument positioning suffers, which becomes particularly noticeable in complex tracks. Tested with Dire Straits – “Sultans of Swing.”
SIVGA Robin SV021 is better suited for those looking for a dynamic and entertaining pop sound rather than audiophiles who value accuracy and naturalness. Genres like rap, pop, hip-hop, and electronic music sound cool and energetic, but these headphones may not be the best choice for classical music or jazz. In their price range, these headphones offer good sound quality and can be an excellent choice for everyday listening, especially if comfort and rhythmic sound are important to you.
Comparison with competitors
The only full-size headphones I have seriously reviewed are the SIVGA P2-PRO. They are significantly superior to the SIVGA Robin SV021, not only because the P2-PRO are planar headphones and the Robin SV021 uses dynamic drivers, but also due to the difference in price range. The SIVGA Robin SV021’s sound also falls short compared to the flagship model.
When comparing the sound of the Robin SV021 with in-ear headphones in the same price range, you can find models with better sound for the same price, such as the BQEYZ WIND. Although they may have a slight disadvantage in the mid-bass area. It’s not entirely accurate to make a direct comparison between full-size and in-ear headphones, but I had no contenders among full-size headphones at that price point.

Design, kit and comfort – SIVGA Robin SV021
SIVGA Robin SV021 are housed in a glossy black box with a drawing of the headphones on the front of the box and technical data on the back.
Headphones: they feature an elegant vintage design and high build quality. The wooden ear cups, lacquered with a neatly applied company logo, look distinguished. The headband is soft, made as a single arc covered in leather matching the color of the ear pads, and equipped with sliding ear cup mounts with fixed positions. The headband length adjustment is convenient and offers a wide range, allowing for precise fitting. The ear cups have a minimal but sufficient rotation angle for comfortable wear. Ear pads: Sivga Robin SV021 headphones have ear pads made of soft foam covered with a soft eco-leather, matched to the color of the headphones. They provide good comfort during use, but may shift slightly and let in sound during vigorous head movements. Additionally, the lack of perforation on the parts of the ear pads that contact the skin leads to sweat accumulation, which can hinder prolonged use. Therefore, I lowered the comfort rating. Case: it is a branded fabric pouch with a drawstring closure. It looks simple but practical.
