While not ideal for critical listening, they’re great for background music or YouTube sessions on a PC. Although marketed as universal, including for gaming, you’ll need EQ adjustments for decent game audio. The sound improves slightly with the Simgot GEW1 proprietary sound card, thanks to its preset EQ, which adds bass, dynamism, and reduces muffling. The Simgot GH22 microphone is adequate for in-game or messenger chat, but it lacks noise cancellation and picks up ambient sounds.

Vocals in music, movies, or casual social media videos sound like they are coming through a wall. Or as if your ears are plugged with cotton, the effect is comparable. I didn’t like the detail retrieval; you really have to strain to listen, and in a dense mix the sound gets muddy and loses clarity. Timbre is decent, and the soundstage is mostly developed in width. Without an EQ, the sound is boring. Simgot EP5 barely squeak into the MyChooz bronze league.
