The Soundpeats H3 offer a pleasant and detailed sound, but only after EQ adjustment. Out of the box, the sound is excessively bass-heavy and quickly becomes fatiguing. I’m not sure who would enjoy this tuning; it feels like the company just cranked up the bass instead of tuning it. The earbuds’ features are a weak point – they’re basic. They even pale in comparison to some budget models offering triple multipoint, a translator, or 10+ hours of battery life. Build quality is solid, though unremarkable. The stemless design is an acquired taste. Overall, these earbuds are best for music, and only if you adjust the equalizer.

The Soundpeats Engine 4 impressed me with their sound. Released in June 2023, these earbuds remain relevant sonically. However, feature-wise, they felt outdated within their first year. The earbuds have an average microphone, lack noise cancellation and transparency mode, offer no control customization, and the app still performs poorly. Battery life in our tests also didn’t meet the claimed figures. Connection stability is another issue – the signal with LDAC drops at 5-6 meters, and with basic codecs, it’s 8-9 meters. And yes, the LDAC codec doesn’t actually improve the sound. So, these earbuds are only worth considering if you can find them at a steep discount, as competitors in the same price bracket offer comparable sound and better features.
