Lewitt 240 PRO is an electret cardioid microphone for $170. I can call this model a decent solution in the class of mics under $200. Sound, features, and build quality are on a good level. The Lewitt 240 PRO is the best choice for beginners and producers in home studios. I tested the Lewitt 240 PRO Value Pack, with spider holder ($200).
In this review I will tell you what the Lewitt 240 PRO is – its pros and cons. I will tell you my impressions of the sound and whether this microphone is worth the money.

🤔 How does the microphone sound?
Lewitt microphones are the main instruments in my practice. The Lewitt 440 Pure is the main workhorse in my studio. The Lewitt 540 S and Lewitt 640 TS were both reviewed and they made a favorable impression on me. The Lewitt 240 PRO is the most budget-friendly model among Lewitt’s entire line of microphones. I was surprised by the detail of the sound and its “airiness”. The microphone sounds great with female and male vocals. The voice is well articulated when recording speech.
The microphone capsule is electret, not a wide-membrane condenser. This is not a bad thing. Such solutions are often found in the budget price segment.
Below I have attached a recording of my voice and acoustic guitar recorded on the Lewitt 240 PRO via a sound cardLewitt Connect 6. For comparison I recorded more guitar and voice on Audio-Tecnica AT2020. The recordings are unprocessed, at the same Gain level. For more examples I recommend to visit official Lewitt website, there are recording examples for each microphone there.
🎙️ Microphone sound tests
🗣 Voice recording:
🎸 Guitar recording:
Low frequencies are not pronounced, there is a slight drop (20 – 120 Hz). For thin and delicate voices, there is a lack of bottom end, but this can be corrected with EQ. There is no murmuring or muddiness in the low frequencies.
The midrange is detailed. The lower midrange is pleasant and intelligible. The upper midrange and the harsh region (2-4 kHz) are not sparkling, but rather soft. The midrange is good.
High frequencies are sharp and well defined. For bright vocals you will have to use more than one mixer 😉 . This is not bad, thanks to the well pronounced high frequencies, muddy and soft voices are readable.
Who is this microphone for? The Lewitt 240 PRO is a great microphone for aspiring musicians and bloggers. Recording vocals or voiceovers is no problem with this microphone. The sound is detailed and open, and most importantly, the output is high quality. Recording guitars is also possible, but do not expect anything super extreme. The microphone will be able to transmit a good sound, but the lack of depth of the guitar and microdynamics will be noticeable.
I was pleased with the sound of the microphone. For $170 we get a well-articulated and bright sound. Recording vocals or an announcer’s voice with this microphone will be of high quality. I liked the sound of the guitar, there is a lack of body in the guitar (low frequency area), but this is solved by equalizer or installing the microphone close to the resonator of the guitar. The microphone can be called universal in the budget segment.

🎛️ Microphone functionality and control
The Lewitt 240 PRO does not have the controls and additional features of the SE X1A and AKG P120:
The absence of these features makes the Lewitt 240 PRO easy to use for inexperienced users. Microphone gain can be controlled on the sound card or preamplifier. Low frequencies can be cut in post-production with EQ.
📦 Lewitt 240 Pro Equipment Options
The Lewitt 240 PRO is available in two versions:
Lewitt 240 PRO – Standard package with holder, case, windshield, rubber wrist strap and the microphone itself ($170).
Lewitt 240 PRO Value Pack – complete with spider holder, case, windscreen, wristband and microphone ($200). This pack is in my review.
🎤 Appearance and build quality
Appearance. I received the microphone in white color. It is also available in black. There is a company logo and the Lewitt name on the front. The Lewitt 240 PRO is square and compact. I like this form factor very much, it reminds me of the C line (C214, C414) from AKG. The finish of the microphone itself is glossy, it shines pleasantly in the light.
The capsule is covered by a double metal grill. A large outer grid and a smaller inner grid. The capsule is well protected, which is the most important thing. The grille is black.
The spider holder is well assembled, with suspension on the picks. In the case of a white microphone comes and half white spider, looks great. The windscreen is made of dense foam, for recording voice and singing is good, the main thing is to keep a distance of 10 cm. from the microphone.
Mounting Lewitt 240 PRO at a good level. The materials used are of high quality. The microphone itself is made entirely of metal. It inspires confidence. The suspension is made of plastic. Both in the area where the microphone is attached, and in the attachment to the microphone stand itself. This is not a bad thing. Plastic is not fragile, does not crunch under the fingers, is quite dense. The microphone sits in the spider and is clamped with a metal ring. The mounting is reliable, the microphone is held securely.
I was pleased with the mounting and design. The microphone is stylish and attractive. I particularly like the white version. The quality of the materials is good. I like that the microphone is all metal. Spider mount, windproof is always appropriate in a home studio. In the box we get everything we need to install and use the microphone. The Value Pack is good, but I would have liked to see a metal pop filter in addition to the windscreen, like the older models.
🆚 Competitors of the Lewitt 240 Pro
Among the competitors of the Lewitt 240 PRO I can point out the following models:
Audio-Technica AT2020
Behringer B-1
AKG P120
SE Electronics X1A
Lewitt 240 Pro is not inferior to its competitors in sound, and the equipment is inferior to many 😎 .
✅ Conclusion
Who is the Lewitt 240 PRO Microphone for? It’s a great tool for aspiring musicians, speakers and bloggers. It can be a versatile solution for recording vocals or instruments in a small home recording studio. The microphone delivers high quality sound.
If you are a gamer or streamer and considering an XLR microphone, the Lewitt 240 PRO will surprise you with better sound quality than any USB microphone.
Is the Lewitt 240 PRO worth the money? This microphone fully justifies its $170 (Standard Pack) and $200 (Value Pack) price tags. If I were choosing a microphone for myself and had a limited budget within $200, I would have considered the above competitors and still gone with the Lewitt 240 PRO 😉 . Richly equipped, decent assembly, stylish design. The sound of the sources will be of good quality and your songs will only get better. One gets the feeling that Lewitt has invested every cent not in advertising the microphone, but in the device itself 😎 .
📎 Briefly about Lewitt
Roman Pershon is the man behind Lewitt. After working as a project manager at AKG, Roman felt the urge to create something of his own. In 2008, he left AKG and set out to find companies that could help him create a small miracle. In Australia, he met Ken Young, who believed in Roman’s ideas, and so began the story of the “green” Lewitt company.
