boAt has unveiled its over-ear Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC headphones. On the brand’s official site they go for around $70, against a claimed MRP of about $116. The claims are adaptive hybrid noise cancelling up to 45 dB, up to 80 hours of battery life and Bluetooth 5.4 — but for now these are lines from the spec sheet, not something I’ve measured with my own hands.
What’s Most Interesting in the boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2
- Noise cancelling. Claimed up to 45 dB, hybrid and adaptive — it adjusts to the surroundings on its own.
- Battery life. Claimed up to 80 hours with ANC off and up to 50 hours with it on; an 800 mAh battery, with a full charge claimed at roughly 2.5 hours.
- Two drivers. 40 mm plus 10 mm in each cup; boAt doesn’t specify what role each one plays.
- Connectivity. Bluetooth 5.4, support for a Hi-Res codec (which exact one isn’t stated on the page) and 3D sound.
- Build. IPX4 protection, dimensions 165.6 × 82.7 × 195.6 mm, two colors — Cosmic Black and Utopian White.
The price for a bundle of “up to 45 dB of adaptive ANC plus 80 hours” looks aggressive even for the budget segment. But the battery figure comes with a caveat from boAt itself: 80 hours is with noise cancelling off. With ANC on the brand already claims 50 hours. There isn’t a word about fast charging in the spec sheet: only a full charge in roughly 2.5 hours is listed.
Two drivers in a cup — 40 and 10 mm — sounds solid, but boAt doesn’t spell out which one handles what, so I won’t guess about bass or detail: that’s decided by tuning, not by the size of the membrane. The line “Hi-Res codec: yes” without naming the actual codec stands out on its own. For headphones with a claim to premium sound, that’s a suspicious omission.
On paper, at $70 the bundle is dense: adaptive ANC, long battery life, fresh Bluetooth and IPX4 splash resistance. The main question is how the headphones sound and how much the noise cancelling actually helps day to day. That’s what a test will show.
