Haylou just rolled out a new model called the Flowbuds N55. For $40, you get LDAC up to 990 kbps, adaptive noise cancellation rated at 54 dB, Bluetooth 6.0, and a 12.4 mm titanium driver with Hi-Res Audio certification. Haylou has built wireless earbuds with noise cancellation before, like the W1 ANC and MoriPods, but the Flowbuds kick off a brand-new lineup with noticeably more serious specs.
- Driver: 12.4 mm with titanium coating, Hi-Res Audio certification
- Noise cancellation: adaptive, rated at up to 54 dB of noise suppression
- Battery: 10 h with noise cancellation, 12 h without noise cancellation, 40 h with the charging case (475 mAh)
- Codecs: LDAC, AAC, SBC
- Bluetooth 6.0, 6 microphones with ENC
- IPX5 — sweat and splash resistance
- Price: $40, shipping starts April 5

Sound. The 12.4 mm dynamic driver with a titanium coating is large for wireless earbuds, plus you get Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification. The big headline here is LDAC: transmission up to 990 kbps, which is nearly 4 times more than AAC. How they sound is up to our review to tell, but the codec support at this price point is impressive.
Noise cancellation. 54 dB of adaptive noise cancellation — Haylou claims peak performance on low-frequency noise. The earbuds can adapt to your surroundings like the subway, office, or street with different noise cancellation profiles. There are 6 microphones with ENC for calls, and wind noise reduction is rated up to 10 m/s. You also get Fit Detection and ear pressure monitoring, features usually found on more expensive earbuds.

Battery. 10 hours with noise cancellation on, 12 off, and 40 with the charging case (475 mAh). One caveat: with LDAC and noise cancellation enabled at the same time, real-world battery life will drop notably since LDAC is a heavy battery drain. The charging case recharges via Type-C, taking about 2 hours.
Connectivity and build. Bluetooth 6.0. The charging case features a two-tone finish and looks more expensive than it is. IPX5 water resistance, two colors: black and white. Weight is 42 grams including the charging case.
LDAC + adaptive 54 dB noise cancellation + Hi-Res + Bluetooth 6.0 for $40 — on paper, the Flowbuds N55 pack everything that usually costs twice as much. If the hardware handles the LDAC and noise cancellation combo without stutters, this will be a budget hit of the season. Our review will tell.
What do you think — is this an interesting option for $40? Let us know in the comments.
