Lava released the Probuds Xplore 25° — affordable wireless earbuds with a retractable charging case and a 1.69-inch color screen. The display is not touch-sensitive: the menu is controlled by two physical buttons on the side. In India, the model costs $21 (₹1,999).

The earbuds themselves have touch controls. Four taps on the left one call up the voice assistant, and four taps on the right one turn on Game Mode. The model shows up in the Bluetooth list as Probuds T25.
Why this is interesting. Usually, manufacturers put touch screens on charging cases and try to turn them into separate gadgets. Lava chose a simpler scheme: a regular display, two buttons, and basic controls without a smartphone. The main question is whether such a charging case is really convenient, or if the screen will remain a toy that forced them to increase the size and cut corners on the earbuds themselves.
What’s concerning. Lava barely reveals the sound characteristics. It doesn’t list supported codecs, frequency range, battery life of the earbuds themselves without the case, battery capacities, dimensions, and weight. Also, ANC, an app, wear detection sensors, and wireless charging are not declared.
Price and where to buy. Lava Probuds Xplore 25° are sold in India for $21 (₹1,999) in Cosmic Black, Charcoal Grey, and Ivory White colors. The manufacturer has not yet announced the international price or global release date.
What we’ll check in the test. Comfort of the button menu, screen readability, quality of the pop-out mechanism, and the display’s impact on battery life. For the earbuds themselves, we’ll evaluate the sound, microphones, connection to two devices, and the stated 35 ms latency. The main thing is to understand if we had to sacrifice basic quality for the sake of an unusual charging case.
