Motorola brought two TWS earbuds to MWC 2026: Moto Buds 2 for €79 and Moto Buds 2 Plus for €149 with Bose sound. Both are successors to last year’s Buds and Buds+. Let me break down what actually changed.
- Buds 2: driver 10mm → 11mm + new 6mm planar magnetic
- Buds 2: ANC — blocks subway and office noise (the old model had none)
- Buds 2: battery 9/42h → 11/48h
- Buds 2 Plus: Bluetooth 5.3 → 6.0
- Buds 2 Plus: ANC 46 → 55 dB
- Both: LHDC, 6 microphones + ENC, Dual Connection

Buds 2 — the bigger surprise. For €79 you now get two drivers: 11mm dynamic + 6mm planar magnetic. ANC has been improved — it blocks subway and office noise. Battery: 9/42h → 11/48h. 10 minutes of charging = 3 hours of playback. Bluetooth 5.3 → 6.0. Three colors: Carbon, Violet Ice, Gray Mist.

Buds 2 Plus — Bose stays, AI arrives. The Bose tuning is unchanged. Bluetooth 5.3 → 6.0. Battery: 9/42h → 9/40h. ANC 46 → 55 dB — there’s an improvement, but the difference will show in a real test. Dolby Head Tracking only works with Moto Edge devices. New additions: CrystalTalk AI for calls, Audio Share — two earbuds to one phone, Moto AI (translations, transcription). Gaming Mode and wireless charging remain.
One catch. The Plus fast charge got worse: 10 min = 3h (Buds+ 2024) → 10 min = 2h (Buds 2 Plus). Moto AI features only work on compatible Motorola smartphones.
Moto Buds 2 at €79 — a real upgrade: planar driver, stronger ANC, 10 extra hours of battery. Moto Buds 2 Plus at €149 — evolution without revolution: Bluetooth updated, AI features added. Whether the €70 gap is worth it — our sound test will tell.
Which model should I test first? Let me know in the comments.
