Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled its new top-tier full-size headphones, the Px7 S3. The headphone lineup is typically updated every 3 years, with the Px7 S2e model released in June 2022 and the Px7 in 2019. Compared to the previous generation, the new model features the same sound system, with some tweaks for reduced sound distortion. These Bluetooth headphones include aptX Lossless codec, USB-C audio, and a software update will later bring support for spatial audio and Bluetooth LE Audio technologies.

The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 wireless headphones feature 40mm dynamic drivers with a biocellulose diaphragm, utilizing the same sound system as the previous generation, which includes a dedicated signal processor (DSP), amplifier, and DAC. However, the manufacturer has made some changes to the driver design to reduce sound coloration and distortion. A new aptX Lossless codec with data transfer up to 1.2 Mbps has been added, and aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX Classic, AAC, and SBC codecs are also available.
The headphones feature eight microphones, four per earcup, with software noise-canceling algorithms for conversations. Active Noise Cancellation is a strong feature of the Px7 range. The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 is one of the top ten best headphones with ANC in our rankings. Battery life remains the same at 30 hours; 15 minutes of charging provides 7 hours of music playback.

In the Bowers & Wilkins Music app for Android and iOS, you can adjust the equalizer and Active Noise Reduction settings. You can integrate streaming services for convenient listening in one app. You can also update the headphones’ firmware, and this is important because the manufacturer in a future update will add spatial audio technology and Bluetooth LE Audio. Auracast broadcasting technology and the LC3 codec will also be available.

The design of the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 is the same as the previous generation. The manufacturer has reduced the thickness of the earcups, and the weight has decreased by 7 grams. The size of the headphones is 177 x 60 x 234 mm and 300 grams. The previous version measured 189 x 63 x 233 mm and weighed 307 grams. The headphones will go on sale in three colors: white, black, and blue. The company will announce the exact price of the headphones later.
