Edifier’s HECATE GX05 Master gaming earbuds have surfaced online. The package includes two extra items: a 2.4 GHz receiver that connects to your device, and a separate desktop charging dock. The earbuds themselves pack a 10mm dynamic driver, support the LHDC 5.0 codec, and feature hybrid active noise cancellation with two modes: deep and comfortable.
What to know before you buy. The connection uses the receiver, which plugs directly into your device and is factory-paired to the earbuds, one-to-one. If you lose the receiver, you’ll need to buy a new one and re-pair it, according to Edifier’s instructions. The included dock is separate, and Edifier states its functions are 2.4G connection, charging, and port expansion. Price and availability. The official Edifier page doesn’t list a price for our region; the model shows up on their Chinese website. We’ll update this section with a seller for your region as soon as one becomes available.
What we’ll test in our Edifier HECATE GX05 Master review. Edifier provides separate battery life figures for Bluetooth and the 2.4 GHz connection. For Bluetooth, the total playtime with the charging case is up to 37.5 hours, but the page doesn’t specify battery life for the 2.4 GHz connection. We’ll measure the battery life ourselves and also test the signal stability, hybrid ANC, and check for dropouts with LHDC 5.0.
