New FiiO EA13 — A $592 Tube Amplifier with 28W and VU Meters

FiiO has launched the EA13, marking the brand’s first-ever all-tube amplifier. Until now, FiiO focused on portable DACs and headphone amps, but this is a home stereo component featuring six tubes. In China, the EA13 has been available since July 27 for 3999 yuan, which converts to about $592 based on the August 14, 2026 exchange rate.

FiiO officially lists the price only for China on its EA13 product page: 3999 yuan, or roughly $592 at the August 14, 2026 exchange rate. The company hasn’t announced a global price. In the US, Apos Inc., a partner FiiO lists on its ‘where to buy’ page for the US, is selling the EA13 for $769.99. This is nearly 30% more expensive than the Chinese price and reflects a specific retailer’s price, not an official FiiO statement. The ‘Buy’ button above links to this option.

FiiO claims 28W per channel for the EA13, but that’s with up to 5% distortion. At a more realistic 1% distortion, the rated power drops to 18W. In our review, we’ll test if this difference is audible, how noticeable the promised warm sound from the EL34 tubes is, how the amplifier performs with speakers of varying sensitivities, and how much the casing heats up. We’ll also separately evaluate the headphone output and the responsiveness of the mechanical VU meters. While we can’t quickly assess tube lifespan, we will look into how easy it is to replace them yourself.

What speakers or headphones should we use to test the EA13? Let us know in the comments.
