Where LG Contradicts Itself. We noticed LG presents conflicting specifications on its own official product page. The description touts IP68 protection, but the ‘All Specifications’ table further down lists IP67 and military standard 810H. These IP ratings have different water protection requirements, and since the manufacturer defines immersion conditions, this isn’t a minor detail. The weight also varies: 14.09 lb (6.39 kg) in the main table versus 14.29 lb (6.48 kg) in the detailed block. LG offers no explanation for these inconsistencies, and we won’t speculate on their behalf. Furthermore, LG hasn’t disclosed the speaker’s price or the cost of a replacement battery. The latter is particularly crucial; if a spare battery costs half the speaker’s price, the model’s central promise will remain on paper.

What We’ll Test. We plan to measure the speaker’s actual playback time at a more realistic listening volume. LG’s 36-hour battery life claim was achieved at 80 dB SPL with lighting off and Playtime Enhance mode enabled; that figure could be lower at a party with the lighting on. Crucially, we’ll also investigate if a spare battery is sold separately and its cost, as this determines whether the model’s central promise works at all.
