What’s new? Here are the key changes in these wireless earbuds compared to the previous Air4 Pro. They swap the QCC3071 for a higher-performance QCC3091 audio SoC. The acoustic setup now uses a 10 mm dynamic driver instead of a 13 mm one. Support for LC3 and LDAC Bluetooth codecs has been added. Active noise cancellation now suppresses up to 53 dB, up from 45 dB. Battery life climbs to 7.5 hours for the earbuds alone compared to 6 hours previously, while total runtime with the charging case hits 37 hours instead of 26. Sound. A 10 mm dynamic driver handles the audio on the Air5 Pro. The previous generation used a 13 mm driver, and the overall sound score sits at a solid 7 out of 10. I suggest checking out this review. The Air5 Pro also upgrades to a more powerful audio platform built around the QCC3091. Key improvements include two signal processors instead of one, extra memory, and Bluetooth 5.4 support instead of 5.3. Finally, regarding sound and codecs, we now get 7 Bluetooth codecs total: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, alongside the newly added LC3 and LDAC. Because of this, you won’t need to worry about compatibility between your phone and these earbuds.
Noise cancellation. Active noise cancellation cuts up to 53 dB of low-frequency noise, an improvement over the 45 dB on the older version. A transparency mode lets you talk without removing the earbuds. Each side still packs 3 microphones for calls, bringing the total to 6, and software noise cancellation is supported. You also get Qualcomm cVc 8.0 echo and noise cancellation technology, which uses a set of algorithms to keep voice transmission clear and stable in various environments.

The SOUNDPEATS Air5 Pro earbuds support multipoint, Game Mode, an ear tip fit test, and a built-in EQ. You can tweak all of these settings inside the SoundPEATS app for Android and iOS. Battery life sees a minor bump to 7.5 hours from 6 hours for the earbuds themselves, while total time with the charging case moves to 37 hours instead of 26. Fast charging is somewhat present: a 10-minute stint in the charging case gives you 2 hours of playback. I’m testing the Anker Soundcore Liberty 5 earbuds right now, and 10 minutes there gets you 5 hours of playback. Can you feel the difference?
