The standard Buds 3 feature a single 11mm dynamic driver, while the Pro model employs a dual-driver setup consisting of a 10.5mm dynamic driver and a 6.1mm planar driver. Each driver is powered by its own dedicated amplifier. High-fidelity audio playback is supported via Samsung’s proprietary Scalable Codec (SSC). Both the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro support high-resolution codecs up to 24-bit/96kHz, as well as 360 Audio technology on Samsung devices.

Bluetooth connectivity is handled by the latest Bluetooth 5.4 standard. Active noise cancellation (ANC) is present on both models, utilizing a three-microphone array with a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) bone conduction sensor for enhanced voice detection. ANC is designed to intelligently filter out environmental noise while allowing important sounds like sirens and alarms to pass through. Transparency mode and adaptive noise control are exclusive to the Pro variant.

Multipoint connectivity, Samsung Find My Device support, and Auracast, which allows users to share their audio stream with others, are all part of the feature set. Playback and volume controls are handled via touch gestures and swipes along the edge of the earbuds. Voice commands are supported (English and Korean only). The earbuds also feature onboard Galaxy AI³, capable of real-time language translation for phone calls and conversations.

The design is described as ergonomic and sleek, with the Pro model featuring additional “Blade Light” accents. The companion app allows for customizable touch controls and EQ adjustments to tailor the sound to personal preferences. The translucent charging case opens via a button and incorporates a carabiner for easy attachment to bags or clothing. Both the case and earbuds are rated IP57 for water and dust resistance, withstanding submersion up to 1 meter (it’s unclear whether this applies to both the case and earbuds).
