Sonos Ace

Sonos, a company known for its high-end multiroom speaker systems, has announced a new model of Sonos Ace wireless headphones. Rumors about the release of these active noise-canceling headphones have been around for months, and now they are ready to compete with the AirPods Max and Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones.

Sonos Ace sound

The Sonos Ace full-size headphones house 40mm proprietary drivers, and the first interesting feature is the wired connectivity via USB-C.

The second feature is the Sonos ARK feature, which tracks the listener’s head position in real time. Combined with Sonos True Cinema technology, you can get headphone integration into your home audio system. The system is capable of instant audio switching from TV to headphones, and Dolby Atmos function creates a surround sound effect, making watching movies and shows even more immersive.

Features

Sonos Ace is equipped with the latest Bluetooth 5.4 and aptX and LC3 high-resolution codecs, as well as Auracast technology, part of the Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) standard. This technology makes it possible to broadcast sound from one device to an unlimited number of other devices, and also increases the communication range from 10 meters to 100 meters.

Sonos Ace’s battery life is up to 30 hours, and 3 min fast charging gives up to 3 hours of playback. Sonos Ace headphones support multipoint, which allows you to use several devices at the same time, for example, to call and watch a movie.

Noise cancellation and connectivity

Sonos Ace features active noise cancellation (ANC) with “Aware” transparency mode. Eight microphones form a directional beam to read your voice.

Design and comfort

Voice and touch controls are complemented by physical buttons. A padded stainless steel headband with smooth hinges adjusts for a comfortable fit and comfortable wear. The memory effect ear cushions with built-in magnets provide an even weight distribution of 312 grams.

Sonos Ace headphones will be available in black and white.
