JBL has introduced the Quantum 850 gaming headset — full-size headphones with Bluetooth 5.3 and a 2.4 GHz dongle that work simultaneously. This means you can play via the 2.4 GHz radio channel and simultaneously receive calls or listen to music from your phone via Bluetooth — that’s what JBL claims. The drivers are 50mm carbon dynamic drivers, and among the features is JBL Quantum Spatial Sound with head tracking.

JBL says the Quantum 850 supports two simultaneous connections: 2.4 GHz via a USB-C dongle for gaming, and Bluetooth 5.3 for calls and music. This means you can game using the wireless dongle and simultaneously take calls or stream music from your phone. The dongle connects via USB-C, and a USB-A adapter is included.
The headphones are equipped with 50mm carbon dynamic drivers and support JBL Quantum Spatial Sound with head tracking, all configurable through the JBL QuantumENGINE app. When connected via USB-C or mini-jack, the wired connection is Hi-Res certified, offering a frequency range of 20 Hz – 40 kHz via USB Audio. The impedance is 32 Ohms, sensitivity is 100 dB SPL at 1 kHz / 1 mW, and the maximum volume reaches 95 dB SPL (JBL hasn’t specified the conditions for this measurement).
For voice communication, there’s a detachable 6mm boom microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern. The JBL QuantumENGINE software includes AI-based noise suppression for both the microphone and keyboard clicks. The headset also features adaptive noise cancellation with a dedicated Ambient Aware transparency mode, activated by a button on the ear cup. Its replaceable 700 mAh battery provides up to 30 hours of playback on Bluetooth alone, up to 25 hours on 2.4 GHz alone, and up to 22 hours when both channels are active. A 10-minute charge yields up to 2 additional hours of playback.
Price and where to buy. JBL announced the headset for Central Europe with a starting price of $302 (€279.99). According to JBL’s press release, the headset is set to go on sale in Europe starting August 2026. The package includes the headset, a detachable boom microphone, a calibration microphone, a windscreen, a replaceable battery, a USB dongle, a USB-C cable, a USB-C to AUX cable, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, and a drawstring pouch.
