The Chinese company Xiaomi has just dropped new watches, smartphones, a fitness band, and the wireless TWS in-ear earbuds — the Xiaomi Buds 5. With Hi-Fi sound and noise cancellation packed into a unique design, all for under $100, these buds are the successor to the Xiaomi Buds 4.

What’s Hot About the Xiaomi Buds 5?

These earbuds come with 11mm drivers with dual magnets in each earbud. The diaphragm moves with an amplitude of up to 0.5mm, and the frequency response range is a solid 16-40kHz. They support Qualcomm aptX Lossless codecs, so you’re getting uncompressed, high-quality sound up to 24bit/48kHz, with data transmission speeds up to 2.1Mbps — six times the usual rate. The frequency response was tuned with the help of engineers from Harman’s Golden Ear Team, giving you modes for high-frequency boost, bass enhancement, classic listening, and custom settings. Xiaomi promises spacious and immersive sound with Dolby Atmos support on their phones. There’s also a listening optimization feature that adjusts the bass compensation in real-time based on your ear canal structure. The sound is Hi-Res Wireless certified.

Each earbud has three built-in mics for active noise cancellation (ANC). AI tech filters your voice during calls, eliminating background noise and ensuring clear voice transmission. Background noise is reduced, and wind noise resistance is boosted by 33% compared to previous models. You can control the buds via the Xiaomi app and even use a voice-to-text feature.

Earbuds Controls:

  • Single Tap: Answer/hang up calls or play/pause music.
  • Double Tap: Reject calls or skip to the next track.
  • Triple Tap: Start/stop recording.
  • Press and Hold: Turn ANC on/off.
  • Slide Up/Down: Adjust volume.
