CVJ In-ear Headphones - Sound
My sonic preferences are centered on maximizing fidelity to the original sound, without adding effects or enhancements. That’s why I chose the Questyle QP1R as my main source – its sound is the most reference and closest to the original.
The sound of the CVJ Bidongs lies in their precise and balanced sound, which is best revealed on neutral sources with good detail. Night Elf will suit warmer sources, where their rich bass and soft upper frequencies can add emotion and depth to the music. For both models, it's important to choose the right accessories like cables and ear cushions to enhance the strengths and balance out the weaknesses.
- The bass frequencies in Bidong: – 7 : are disappointing in their weak presence. With a more dedicated sub bass, they feel better controlled than the Night Elf, but due to the weak midbass they clearly lack depth and power. For genres where bass is important, these headphones may seem too “dry” and lifeless.
Night Elf: Night Elf’s woofers, on the contrary, are more massive. But the bass is blurred, indistinct and poorly integrated into the overall soundscape. This leads to suppression of the lower part of the MF. - The midrange in the Bidong – 6.5 : is sterile and devoid of emotion. Although detailed, they lack body and naturalness. Vocals sound cold and detached, and instruments seem artificial, which is especially noticeable in the upper midrange and in complex compositions.
Night Elf: Night Elf’s midrange sounds more natural, but loses detail and stage width. The lower part of the midrange suffers from a blocky midbass, the upper part of the midrange is inaudible, the overall sound picture is flat. - High frequencies in Bidong – 6 : are not transparent enough, their upper part is muted, which deprives the music of sparkle and detail. The headphones clearly do not refine in this range, which makes the overall sound weak.
HF in Night Elf: sound softened and comfortable. Similar to the Bidong they are muted, dull and lack any transparency. Detail in the upper range is poor, the sound is flat and dull. - Detail in the Bidong is 6.5: despite having six armature drivers, the model does not achieve the desired level of elaboration. The sound in the CVJ Bidong can be perceived as mechanistic and flat, without proper echelon.
- Night Elf: sound detailing here also leaves much to be desired, giving the impression of superficiality, especially in the midrange and upper frequencies. Fine nuances and textures are almost lost, limiting the overall expressiveness of the sound.
- Bidong – 7’s stage is wider than Night Elf’s, but lacks echelon – sounds are often perceived on one plane, which does not add volume.
Night Elf: narrow and cramped. Instruments are bunched together, lacking a sense of volume and space. - Conclusion: both models have their shortcomings, especially in upper frequencies and midrange extension. Nevertheless, the Bidongs are superior to the Night Elf in terms of detail and frequency balance, although their cold sound and lack of emotion may make listening less exciting. The Night Elf, on the other hand, offer a more emotional sound but rely on a dominant, albeit fuzzy bass, making them more suitable for undemanding listeners.
Comparison with competitors
For comparison, I'll take the only Truthear Nova hybrid model in the same price range as the CVJ Bidong. The Nova is a great model with beautifully detailed HF and woofer ranges. The only drawback is the muffled male vocals in the midrange and the included cable, which I didn't like. In terms of sound, the Truthear Nova will put both models in the review to bed.
Design, kit and comfort - CVJ Bidong
CVJ Bidong's gift packaging is a delight. It is very cute and unconventional. On the back side there is a picture of a couple in love, on the front panel there is an envelope - a card, when you open it, a heart appears. Under the heart there are headphones and bath soap in the form of rosebuds.
The modular cable has 4 connectors 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm and Tipe-C, as well as an adapter from Tipe-C to Tipe-A. The cable is 4 core, gold with silver, and looks smart and prestigious too. The 2Pin connectors are color coded: blue – left side, red – right side.
Ear cushions: a standard set of SML sizes with a white core, not enough to fit. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to put a standard set of ear cushions on the earphone’s soundhole. Their cuff turned out to be significantly narrower than the soundhole. Because of this I withdrew the score.
The case is silver metal in the form of a washer, with a black threaded cover. It made me feel uncomfortable because of its weight, squeaky threads and cold metal. Also because of its heavy weight and shape it is not practical or convenient. Although it can be used successfully for self-defense purposes. )

Design, comfort and kit CVJ Night Elf
The front features a Halloween black witch cat with a white signature “Night Elf.” A commendable package: Both CVJ models, the Bidong and Night Elf, have their strengths and weaknesses. The CVJ Bidong offer a more balanced sound and sufficient detail thanks to the use of armature drivers and a wide frequency range, but their cold sound and lack of emotionality may not suit those looking for a more dynamic experience. The Night Elf, on the other hand, stand out with a warmer and more emotional sound, with an emphasis on bass, but suffer from a lack of detail. As a result, Bidong is suitable for those who appreciate technicality, and Night Elf - for fans of emotional sound and uncomplicated listening.
The set is less flashy than CVJ Bidong, but presumably also a gift set and also for the other half, but for Halloween.
The cable is modular, but without interchangeable connectors like the Bidong. Looks to be of good quality and appearance.
A set of SML size ear cushions in black with a red core.
The case is similar to the Bidong resembles a puck, but black in color and exactly the same size and weight, covered with velvet inside. I really didn’t like it – 2 points.CVJ Bidong specifications

Conclusion
The headphones are perfect for your other half, and you don't have to find an excuse to give them as a gift.
