When I was informed that full-size planar headphones from SIVGA were coming for review, I didn’t expect something outstanding in terms of sound, discoveries and revelations. However, the SIVGA P2-PRO wired headphones impressed me with their unique design and quality. From the first minutes of listening to the flagship headphones, it became clear that they offer excellent sound which is close to monitor sound.

What does the manufacturer offers in wired headphones Sivga P2-PRO

  • The sound is clear and vibrant: high frequencies are smooth and clean, while the bass is rich and dense.
  • Comfortable to wear: the headband features an ergonomic design, and the ear pads and headband are made from soft, velvety material that is gentle on the skin.
  • Select high-quality wood: the headphone casing is made from red oak and polished by hand, providing a delicate and elegant finish.
  • Fine craftsmanship: the metal parts, CNC-machined and anodized with gunmetal, offer a high-quality metallic texture.
  • New design: the headphone housing is equipped with a stainless steel mesh with an etching process, giving it a unique and innovative appearance.
  • Premium cable: the headphones come with a 6N OCC cable, ensuring vibrant and transparent sound.

SIVGA P2-PRO Wired Headphones – Sound

SIVGA P2 PRO

This model uses planar drivers, which used to be produced less technologically advanced and had a high impedance, so you needed a powerful current source (amplifier) to listen to them. New models of planar drivers are available with lower impedance, allowing you to listen to planar headphones even on smartphones. Our SIVGA P2-PRO headphones have an impedance of 32 ohms, which makes it possible to listen even on weak sources. But for better disclosure of the headphones I use my players for tests, as they provide more accurate and detailed sound transmission, allowing you to fully unlock the potential of planar drivers and feel all the nuances of sound.

Questyle QP1R, Questyle QP2R and Hiby R3 Pro.

These are stock High-end players: the Questyle QP1R and Questyle QP2R, as well as the Hiby R3 Pro.

  • Questyle QP1R: sound is characterized by exceptional clarity and precision, with a focus on clear midrange frequencies and detailed highs. The bass remains neutral and balanced, without excessive warmth or enrichment.
  • Questyle QP2R: sound is softer and more emotive, with clear detailing and well-developed bass and midrange frequencies. The highs are softened, creating a balanced and comfortable listening experience.
  • Hiby R3 Pro: sound is less detailed compared to the Questyle models but stands out with vibrant musicality and emotionality. The sound is more colored, with an emphasis on musical expressiveness and an engaging character.

My audio preferences are oriented towards maximum accuracy to the original sound, without added effects or enhancements. That’s why I chose the Questyle QP1R as my primary source—its sound is the most reference-quality and closest to the original.

The SIVGA P2-PRO features an open-back design, allowing the diaphragm to move freely without restrictions from the rear side of the driver. This design enhances the clarity and naturalness of the sound. However, it also means that there is virtually no noise isolation: you will hear external sounds, and the music from the headphones will be audible to those around you. Therefore, these headphones are better suited for quiet environments, as they are not ideal for noisy places or public transport.

SIVGA P2 PRO

  • Overall Sound Presentation – 9.5: SIVGA P2-PRO impresses from the first moment with its sound. They offer a balanced and slightly dry musical sound signature. The initial impression is of a neutral, linear, and well-balanced sound, almost monitor-like. They are quite melodic.
  • Low Frequencies – 8.5: despite the open-back design of the SIVGA P2-PRO, the sub-bass remains linear and neutral without significant roll-off, providing good weight and reverberation when needed, such as in Linkin Park’s “Sorry for Now,” where the bass line is prominent from the start. The mid-bass is also linear and clean, as heard in Massive Attack’s “Angel,” where it maintains density and dynamics, delivering a deep and rich sound from the drums and bass guitar. However, there is a slight sense of lacking mid-bass.
  • Mid Frequencies – 9: lower midrange frequencies sound clean and neutral. In Norah Jones’s “Don’t Know Why,” both male and female vocals are heard naturally and harmoniously, retaining their presence without excessive sharpness. Flutes and violins, as in Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” have pleasant articulation and richness, highlighting the musicality of the midrange. The excellent midrange has won me over.
  • High Frequencies – 9.5: lower high frequencies are balanced and smooth, avoiding sibilance or sharpness. The upper high frequencies are more pronounced, adding sparkle and brilliance to the music, as heard in Daft Punk’s “Giorgio by Moroder,” where cymbals and triangles are vivid but not overly harsh. High frequencies are open and airy, contributing to the brightness and energy of the music while remaining comfortable for the ears. The high frequencies are well-handled, with no irritating sounds—everything is very clean and airy.
  • Detail retrieval – 10: SIVGA P2-PRO exhibits a high degree of detail, allowing for the capture of subtle nuances in recordings, such as background sounds or instrumental details. They maintain a balance between technical accuracy and musicality, providing clean sound without excessive sharpness or overemphasis on details.
  • Soundstage – 9.5: the soundstage of the SIVGA P2-PRO is well-extended in both width and depth, with excellent separation of instruments and precise positioning. In Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” the placement of guitars, vocals, and synthesizers is easily distinguishable, creating a spacious and realistic sound field. The sense of “presence” creates the impression of being at a live concert in an intimate venue, adding depth and richness to the sound.
  • Sound Conclusion: these headphones impress with their sound, featuring an almost monitor-like frequency response. The sound has a dry character, attributed to the planar driver design, which results in a lack of warmth and velvety aura in the presentation. They are ideal for those who value natural, accurate sound with detailed accents and a wide soundstage. While they are not devoid of musicality and warmth, they remain highly faithful to the source material, making them an excellent choice for those who prefer precise reproduction without coloration.
The SIVGA P2-PRO is well-suited for various music genres such as jazz, classical, and rock, providing a balanced and rich sound that remains comfortable even during extended listening sessions. These headphones would be ideal for mixing recordings if they were in a closed-back design. They can offer an enjoyable listening experience for your favorite tracks.

Comparison with competitors

My preference for listening to music is in-ear wired headphones. Upon reviewing the nearly top-tier SIVGA P2-PRO, I couldn’t find any comparable models among those I had previously reviewed that matched them in terms of detail and clarity. All my previous full-sized headphones are dynamic models that fall short of the SIVGA P2-PRO in all respects. This model impresses with its sound and reminds me of the THIEAUDIO MONARCH Mk III. However, unlike the SIVGA P2-PRO, the MONARCH Mk III has a more melodic and warm sound with a pronounced V-shaped frequency response. Comparing full-sized headphones like the SIVGA P2-PRO with in-ear monitors like the THIEAUDIO MONARCH Mk III isn’t entirely fair, but in terms of sound, they are the closest.

Design, kit and comfort – SIVGA P2-PRO

The SIVGA P2-PRO come in a plain brown cardboard box with an illustration of the headphones on the front and technical specifications on the back.

SIVGA P2 PRO

  • Headphones: they look very beautiful and expensive. The wooden ear cups made of black walnut, lacquered to preserve the ring texture, are surrounded by a metallic ring that frames the wooden ear cups. The metal grills on top have a matte oxidized finish, which gives them a smooth look and contrasts with the stainless steel grills beneath. The cups can rotate horizontally by 180 degrees and vertically by up to 50 degrees.
The SIVGA P2-PRO headband has a well-thought-out design with a comfortable self-adjusting system made of metal components, ensuring durability and reliability. The headband strap is made of lambskin leather with the company’s logo, adding a touch of luxury and comfort. Metal and plastic parts are joined with hidden screws, giving a neat and elegant appearance. Despite their considerable weight of 435 grams, the headphones fit comfortably on the head. I managed to do my morning workout in them, and they didn’t slip off.
  • Ear cushions: they feature a unique angled cushion design that ensures an excellent seal around the ears without causing discomfort during extended wear. The outer and inner parts are stitched from soft leather, while the areas that come into contact with the face are made from breathable fabric material, adding extra comfort and pleasant sensations. The ear cushions themselves are very soft and comfortable. All parts of the headphones that touch the face are made from breathable fabric material, which prevents the skin from sweating.

  • Cable: the SIVGA P2 PRO headphones come with a 4-wire high-quality cable made of 6N OCC silver-plated copper. It is quite flexible, free of microphonics, and compatible with the connectors. The cable features a 4.4 mm connector with robust bend protection, and includes a 4.4 mm (female) to 3.5 mm (male) adapter, connected with the same type of cable as the headphones, as well as a 6.3 mm plug adapter.
It’s nice that the manufacturer has ensured the headphones’ compatibility with various audio sources. All metal elements of the cable are branded and customized, adding extra durability and a premium appearance.
  • Case: the branded case is made of dense light brown leather with a wood-like color palette and is shaped like a small round suitcase. The golden metal zipper adds an elegant touch, while the brass feet and the clasp on the handle complement the overall design, ensuring practicality and stability.
The package also includes a branded linen and polyester pouch for the cable and accessories.

Very impressive set, with all components reflecting the premium quality of the package. I deducted just 1 point for the weight of 435 grams.
