ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then, the company has been developing, manufacturing and selling loudspeakers for professional audio. The development of the X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter, based on the invention of Oscar Hale (Air Motion Transformer) in the 1960’s, contributed greatly to the founding of the company. A giant leap forward was achieved through the use of modern materials such as rare earth magnets and high-strength diaphragm foil, which made possible a new driver geometry. The newly developed tweeter design epitomized the transparent, well-defined and authentic sound that is today the most defining development of ADAM Audio’s proprietary designs. Indeed, Advanced Dynamic Audio Monitors (ADAM) was immediately able to change the rules of professional monitoring.
