JBL’s new Cove P1 is a portable speaker that brings Wi-Fi and Dolby Atmos Music from the Cove home system. The standout feature of the JBL Cove P1 is its ability to keep your music following you around the house. With a long press of the Moment button, you can transfer the track to the speaker nearest you, no phone or app needed. You can group rooms together in the JBL One app.
Sound-wise, you’re looking at a 20 mm tweeter, three 30 mm tweeters, and a 105 mm woofer, delivering a total of 120W RMS at 1% THD. The frequency range is 50 Hz – 20 kHz (-6 dB). A built-in microphone calibrates the speaker to the room it’s in. Proprietary technologies include Constant Sound Field and AI Sound Boost. You can pair a second identical speaker for stereo sound.
Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3. It supports AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, and is Roon Ready. MP3 playback up to 320 kbps from USB-C is available only on US and Central American versions. Alexa voice control is promised for later in 2026, with this year’s update only coming to the US.
A 10.8V, 4800 mAh lithium battery powers the speaker, offering up to 14 hours of playback depending on the content and volume. The speaker charges via the included docking station.
The speaker measures 146 × 233 × 147 mm and weighs 3.26 kg, complete with a carrying handle. Its IP56 rating means it can handle poolside use. It’s available in white and black.
