Soundcore brought the Space 2 to MWC 2026 in Barcelona. It’s a $129.99 over-ear headphone with noise cancellation. The Space One previously cost $99 and was a solid budget option, so the Space 2 asks for $30 more. I’m trying to figure out what exactly has changed.
- Battery: 40 → 50 hrs with ANC, 55 → 70 hrs without ANC
- ANC: was adaptive → now 4-step (office, transport, airplane, manual)
- Driver: same 40 mm size, but different diaphragm — silk + ceramic composite instead of regular
- Bluetooth: 5.3 → 6.1
- Same codecs: LDAC, AAC, SBC
- Fast charging: 5 min = 4 hours (same as Space One)
- Weight almost the same: 261 g vs 265 g

Battery. This is the main upgrade. It was 40 hours with ANC, and now it’s 50. Without ANC, it jumps from 55 to 70 hours. For comparison, Sony’s $400 XM5 headphones offer 30 hours with noise cancellation. Fast charging remains the same: 5 minutes gives you 4 hours of playback.
ANC. The Space One had adaptive noise cancellation, but it lacked options — the headphones made their own decisions. The Space 2 introduces 4 modes: office, transport, airplane, and manual. How much this actually improves cancellation quality remains to be seen in testing.
Sound. The driver is still 40 mm, but the diaphragm has been replaced with a two-layer one: silk + ceramic composite. In theory, this should mean faster transients and less distortion at high volumes. The codecs haven’t changed: LDAC, AAC, SBC — the same set as the Space One.
Connectivity. Bluetooth has been updated from 5.3 to 6.1, which should offer a more stable connection and less battery drain. Multipoint is still supported, as is the 3.5 mm input. HearID has been updated to version 3.0 for personalized sound via the Soundcore app.
Sales start April 21, 2026. Available in three colors: Linen White, Jet Black, and Seafoam Green.
Essentially, the Space 2 is the Space One with increased battery life, updated Bluetooth, and a different diaphragm. They didn’t change the codecs or multipoint. Whether it’s worth the $30 upgrade depends on how much better the new driver and ANC actually sound. Our tests will tell.
